Dominican peso: where to exchange dollars today and get more pesos

The dollar holds steady against the peso, but rates vary widely between institutions. Comparing before you exchange can mean more pesos in your pocket.

Key points

  • The banking average is 58.51 to buy and 61.41 to sell, unchanged from yesterday.
  • Taveras pays 60.35 pesos per dollar, the highest buying rate among exchange agents.
  • Moneycorps sells dollars for 60.70 pesos, the lowest selling rate among the agents listed.
  • BHD and Banesco pay 57.95 pesos per dollar, the lowest buying rates among banks.

The dollar holds steady in the Dominican banking average on October 31, 2026, with a buying rate of 58.51 pesos and a selling rate of 61.41 pesos. These figures match yesterday's, so there is no change in the overall average.

Looking at individual institutions, however, the differences are significant. Among exchange agents, Taveras pays the most per dollar at 60.35 pesos, followed by RM at 60.20. On the selling side, Moneycorps offers the lowest price at 60.70 pesos, with Panora Exchange close behind at 60.75.

Among banks, the lowest buying rate is at BHD and Banesco, both at 57.95 pesos per dollar. Bonanza Banco, by contrast, pays 59.50 per dollar, and the savings and loan associations Cibao and La Nacional offer 59.40 for buying.

For those selling dollars, the advice is to compare before deciding: exchange agents generally pay more than banks. For those buying, agents also offer competitive selling prices compared with several banks.

Rates can change throughout the day, so it is wise to confirm the price directly with the institution before completing any transaction.

Why it matters

If you are selling dollars, checking exchange agents can get you better results than going to a bank. If you need to buy dollars, Moneycorps offers the most competitive selling rate among the agents checked.
