Dominican designer Giannina Azar has been named official designer for the 75th edition of Miss Universe, which will be held on November 24 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Azar will be in charge of creating the exclusive wardrobes for the participating candidates.
Azar, who has dressed international figures such as Jennifer López, Beyoncé and Thalía, will design special pieces for the pageant. According to the statement, the creations will feature embroidery, crystals and handcrafted details as their signature elements. In the statement, the designer said: "We want the 149 candidates to shine like true diamonds on a night that will go down in history."
The project will be supported by a team of collaborators. Miami Talents will handle logistics, and Yohanna Gursey will provide design assistance. Marylin Alonso of Ausome Foundation will collaborate on the project, and Rosa Fabric will supply the fabrics.
Official activities begin November 8, when the candidates gather in Puerto Rico for rehearsals, integration activities and cultural and tourism experiences. The pageant will hold three main events at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico: the national costume competition on November 21, the preliminary competition on November 22, and the grand final on November 24, when Miss Universe 2026 will be crowned.
