President Luis Abinader will open two schools, a child care center, the Santa Fe-Infotep project and a fire protection and water supply system in the free trade zone of San Pedro de Macorís this Saturday, according to the Presidency of the Dominican Republic.
The day begins at 11:00 a.m. With the Maestra Altagracia Hernández Basic School, located in the Soco batey, which has 11 classrooms. The president will then open the Prof. César Agustín González Primary School in Boca de Cumayasa, which has 15 classrooms. Both facilities add to the educational infrastructure of those communities.
The agenda also includes the Santa Fe-Infotep project, with 24 classrooms focused on technical and vocational training. According to the Presidency, the center will host job training and workforce preparation programs.
The fire protection and water supply system of the San Pedro de Macorís free trade zone will also be inaugurated. The Presidency describes it as infrastructure linked to the operational needs of that industrial space.
The head of state will then open the Barrio Lindo child care center, which will serve early childhood care.
The schedule ends with a meeting with young people from different communities at the Museo del Pelotero Petromacorisano, where he will listen to their concerns and learn about their experiences and outlook.
Why it matters
The projects aim to expand technical training and child care in a province in the eastern Dominican Republic. For families in the area, they mean more educational spaces and more job training options.
