Dominican actress and comedian Cheddy García has again criticized Santiago Matías, this time over a caravan the businessman and content creator organized last weekend. She made the remarks in a video posted to her social media, according to El Nacional.
García called the event "dangerous." Matías mobilized hundreds of followers from the Alofoke Media Group facilities in the Distrito Nacional to Lantica Estudios, where the reality show Planeta Alofoke is filmed. The comedian said that while she recognizes the influencer's ability to draw crowds, such mass events are unnecessary and cause long traffic jams and disruptions.
In the video, García asked: "Who gives him permission to make this call and throw people into the street?" She also mentioned Distrito Nacional mayor Carolina Mejía, referring to the authorities who approve such activities, and voiced concern about safety during the events.
The actress said she has faced consequences over her differences with Matías, including the loss of friendships and work opportunities. She also claimed that some entertainment figures prefer not to speak publicly about the businessman out of fear of retaliation. According to El Nacional, the names mentioned included Fausto Mata and Giuseppe Benignini.
The feud dates back to 2020, when García criticized explicit content in some Dominican urban songs, prompting reactions from figures in the urban music scene and digital platforms.
