Peruvian TV host Laura Bozzo has left the Intensive Care Unit and is now in a room, according to her eldest daughter, Victoria de la Fuente. During an appearance on the Peruvian program Amor y fuego, Victoria said her mother has already regained her famously strong personality, to the point that "she's already yelling at the nurses," though she said it with a laugh.
Victoria said the family has seen major improvements over the past day, and that her mother's progress will depend on how she continues responding to treatment.
The emergency began in Acapulco, where Bozzo was staying with her other daughter and her personal assistant. In the middle of the night, she began to feel severe pain, and they called an ambulance. According to Victoria, the host had an ulcer that burst and led to peritonitis.
Victoria said that when her mother arrived at the hospital in Acapulco, doctors gave her a 10% chance of surviving. She underwent surgery, and the next day she was transferred to Mexico City.
During her most critical stage, Bozzo needed a breathing tube. Victoria admitted she didn't know what could happen.
